RCMP Livestock Resource Package...
The Farm Animal Council of Saskatchewan Inc. saw an area of educational need when the RCMP came to us to inquire about livestock handling and euthanasia techniques. In response, we have developed the RCMP Livestock Resource Package. The package has posters and wallet-sized informational cards that describe proper handling techniques for various species of livestock, as well as methods to euthanise non-ambulatory animals. Also included in the package are various telephone numbers for industry and commodity group contacts available to assist the RCMP in the event of a traffic accident involving livestock. Armed with this information the RCMP, often being first on the scene of an accident, will be better equipped to reduce animal suffering and secure public safety.
